Almost a quarter of the UAE’s population has invested in non-fungible tokens or NFTs. The country is home to the world’s first gallery for Islamic art turned into NFTs and 3F Studio, which has spent millions on tokens of popular memes. NFTs have also provided more visibility for regional artists, including Kristel Bechara and Amrita Sethi.

Following major brands, sports teams, and real estate firms, now Dubai Police have also launched their own set of NFTs. So far, 22.9 million people have registered interest in their first collection, which was released earlier this year. Dubai Police will release another one during GITEX 2022, scheduled for October this year.

Dubai Police also received 7000 messages for participation, and after confirming their wallet addresses, individuals who fulfilled the criteria were shortlisted in a raffle draw. Finally, 120 people will be selected to receive the digital assets for free. The 150 free NFTs symbolizing innovation, security, and communication for Dubai Police, make the department the UAE’s first government organization to release digital assets.

Thanks to social media outreach, people within and outside the country can own Dubai Police’s NFTs for free. The initiative aligns with the government’s positive approach toward crypto and other digital assets.
